Meet Our New Board Member, Anne Taylor, RN, BSN

Please welcome Anne Taylor, RN, BSN, to the Board of Directors of Project Sleep, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of sleep health and sleep conditions.

“I am excited to join the Project Sleep’s board of directors, as a parent of a child with narcolepsy, I know on a deep personal level how lonely and scary it feels to receive a life changing diagnosis, it affects the whole family,” said Taylor. “The crucial work by Project Sleep shines the light into the dark, it was empowering for my family to see that bright light of support. I look forward to joining this powerful team of advocates.”

Anne’s over 20 years of nursing experience has catapulted her passion for mental health and the arts in healthcare into entrepreneurship, currently as a CEO of Scandic Health, she provides the evidence-based MusiCure – music as medicine to patients.

Anne Taylor was born and raised in Lyngby, Denmark and received her Bachelor of Nursing from Copenhagen nursing school. Anne resides in Northern Virginia with her husband of 20 years and their two teen daughters. Taking time for her own mental health is important and she can often be found in her garden tending to her flowers or at a yoga class.

“Welcoming Anne onto our leadership team is a joy and honor.” said Julie Flygare, J.D., President & CEO of Project Sleep.  “Her healthcare background, entrepreneurial mindset, and passion for this cause will help Project Sleep uncover new ways to better integrate sleep education into the healthcare space and beyond.”

  • Thank you, Anne, for sharing your story. I, too, am the mother of a
daughter with Narcolepsy. Narcolepsy has completely robbed her of her
dreams. It is difficult to explain to others, because EVERYONE takes
alertness and wakefulness for granted. I know your pain.
I look forward to a day when stimulants are not the only option.
Will stem cell trials ever be a reality? I do understand how depression
sets in, when one must fight, every hour, for wakefulness. In addition.
the impact on college, jobs, friendships, etc, is truly profound.
